The Sibsagar Girls' College,

a premier institution for women education, was established in 1964 in the historic town of Sivasagar, a reminiscent of the great Ahom rule. Started as an Arts College, the institution decided to open up Science stream as well in 1989 and since then, the college has the status of a two stream Degree College. The College is constantly updating itself by adding vocational courses and computer education, so that the students, along with traditional learning, can acquaint themselves with entrepreneurship ideas to become economically independent.
Consistently good results at both H.S. and Degree level, picturesque buildings, rich and growing library, experienced and committed faculty, modern laboratory, disciplined atmosphere, exclusive hostel and, above all, constant efforts put in by all concerned in making the college a place of ideal learning was reflected in the B+ (75%) gradation by NAAC.
